Robert Sonnenburg Jr. M.D. is board-certified in otolaryngology and sleep medicine. He sees both adults and children, carefully listens to patients and provides treatment explanations in understandable language. He is interested in chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, obstructive sleep apnea and thyroid cancer with special interests in endoscopic sinus surgery and thyroid surgery.

Dr. Sonnenburg obtained his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He then attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he received numerous honors including the prestigious Millman Award. He completed residency training at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, during that time he published articles on the topics of revision sinus surgery and skull base surgery. Since starting practice Dr. Sonnenburg completed training and has become a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and also has become a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Sonnenburg, his wife, son and three daughters live in Peshtigo. A family man at heart, he enjoys participating in his children’s activities at school and church.
